To restore aroma
fine sandpaper
Rub the inside of the lid lightly and the smell will return.
If necessary, rub the insides too, but be sure to vacuum up
any dust before storing clothes.

Secure drawers

Fix a length of elastic to the inside front of a drawer to
hold small bottles upright.
Sticking drawers
beeswax or silicone polish or soap
Rub on the runners of the drawers so they will slide more
easily.
Extra hanging space
Add a rod half-way down one side of the wardrobe to provide
double hanging space for short garments such as shirts.
Fragrant clothes
perfumed soap
Leave a few cakes unwrapped amongst clothes so they will
always smell fresh and sweet.
Skirt or scarf hangers
wire coat-hanger | pegs
Fit two pegs firmly over the lower bar of a wire hanger and
suspend a skirt from the pegs. This is also useful for storing
large scarfs that would otherwise develop folds and creases.
To prevent crease lines in trousers
card | adhesive tape \ wire coat-hanger
Roll the card into a tight roll and fasten round the bar of
the hanger with tape.
foam rubber \ cotton \ wire coat-hanger
Stitch a length of foam rubber along the bar of the hanger.
To hang belts and bags
shower curtain hooks
Install a few of these large hooks along the hanging rail
and suspend belts, bags, ties or other accessories from them.
To repel moths
turpentine or cloudy ammonia or epsom salts
Sprinkle turpentine or epsom salts in empty drawers and wardrobes
to repel moths. Dilute cloudy ammonia with water and sponge
out interiors of wardrobes or drawers.

Keep a few blocks of camphor amongst stored clothes.
To store woollens
moth balls or camphor or powdered sulphur
Wash all woollens before storing. Add a few moth balls or
blocks of camphor to repel moths or a little powdered sulphur
to repel silverfish.
