To clean
paraffin
Cleans off soap scum.

To remove mildew

bleach

Use bleach to remove mildew. Allow adequate ventilation in shower recesses, and rinse off well.

To protect

wax or furniture polish

Polish clean walls (but not floors - too slippery!) with wax to prevent soap film from accumulating.

To restore grout

white liquid shoe polish
Dab on grout, then wipe excess off tiles.

To clean white grout

bleach or household antiseptic
Brush solution on grout with a toothbrush. Rinse.

To clean coloured grout

epsom salts
Brush grout with a soft damp brush dipped in epsom salts.
