Nierembergia repens is a member of the nightshade family, a perennial from South America which forms a mat of rooting stems. White flowers 2.5cm/1in wide with golden stamens are borne in mid summer. Sometimes the petals have a rosy tinge. There are no named varieties.

GROWING Plant in spring in moisture-retentive soil in a sunny position.

PROPAGATION Divide in spring and replant immediately.
