Description

Alitex are proud to be the makers of the most beautiful aluminium greenhouses and conservatories.

We have grown since our humble beginnings in 1952 and spearheaded the wood look Victorian greenhouse. Our focus has remained to create truly stunning structures that are functional spaces for plants and people.

A family business

Retaining Alitex as a family business is important to us and the long term future of the company is at the forefront of our thinking - with no exit strategies or plans to sell to large financial institutions. We are in the fortunate position to have no debt and a healthy balance sheet that allows us to continually invest in our people, processes, research and development.

We are privileged to have a fantastic reputation which we have built over the years and we work hard to maintain it. Our customers are our biggest critic and on the whole an Alitex customer knows they have made the right decision when choosing an Alitex structure. On the very rare occasion our customers are not entirely satisfied and would like something changed, we will without question.

We have strong relationships with our customers, which we like to think is built on the trust we instil during the process of deciding on and completing their structure. Often they become part of the extended Alitex family and we stay in touch long after we complete their project. We make a difference to our customer's lives - be it growing or living space and sometimes both.

Continually improving

Our investment programme is often steered by our customers through their feedback. We listen and implement changes to improve our products and service – we really do listen. Continual investment in our products and processes is one of the keys to our success – from top of the range design software, to large investment in our onsite factory – we strive to continually improve.

This investment has allowed the evolution of our glazing systems over the years. Our original greenhouse has been developed to introduce the Thomas Messenger in the late 1990s, our National Trust Range in 2005 and our double glazed conservatories in 2007 – and there is more in the pipeline.

Made in Britain

We like to believe that Alitex is a true working example of British Craftsmanship at its very best – everything is designed and made on site on the Hampshire / Sussex border. To truly understand what makes Alitex so unique you could visit us at Torberry Farm to meet the team and see where and how we work. Our show site has a number of structures for you to experience and touch. The design office are more than happy to show you how they work and a tour of the factory will leave you in no doubt that we do really make aluminium beautiful.

If a trip to Torberry isn't possible follow the Alitex journey through our News & Events pages, twitter and flickr galleries – we hope you will recognise that Alitex really is something beyond all expectations.
